Thank you for this. I hate that I didn’t have much knowledge of ADHD or autism or even the other mental health stuff years ago in my last relationship. Especially being diagnosed with autism this year (I’m 29) a lot of things started to make sense with how I am and why I do the things that I do. What’s scary is that all of this may sound like too much for a neurotypical and it def doesn’t help with finding a partner. I feel as though I’ve had people interested in me and it’s reciprocated until our first conversation and I always fumble bc of not landing with what I say (complete opposite if I am not attracted to them). I would love to be in a relationship but I feel as thought it’s not time as I’m still learning about how to actually live (a bigger part of me is crossing my fingers that someone would show up)

How do you go about feeling deserving of a partner that does this for you? As a neurodivergent woman, in my mind I’m thinking, why would a neurotypical go through all of this and work so hard to be a good partner for me? Why wouldn’t they just drop me as soon as they find out I’m neurodivergent because it’ll take so much effort for them to love me properly?
