I don’t use a GLP1 but do need to use sharps for an illness I have. It’s easy to go online and order a sharps box from the council, they will pick it up and replace it for free. It’s really inconsiderate to just throw these in a bin.

My husband is a bin man and this happens on a regular basis and it’s not just the weigh loss jabs, he sliced his finger on something very sharp by picking up a bin bag whilst wearing protective gloves and it still sliced through. People just don’t dispose of their waste correctly and 9 times out of 10 it’s dumped all over the place.

Most councils and local GP’s won’t bother taking them, call up your local council and chances are they’ve got a month long backlog for collections, call up your local GP and unless your prescription is directly with them then they won’t bother taking them either, not saying people incorrectly disposing them aren’t to blame but local councils and the health service definitely don’t help the situation
