@kenya.news.today: Just hours before his death, Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo announced extraordinary gifts for two of his longtime lawyers. On the morning of September 30, 2026, Chivayo announced that Wilson Tatenda Manase would receive a fully paid 2026 Lexus GX 550 valued at US$220,000, together with US$250,000 in cash. His other lawyer, Advocate Sylvester Hashiti, was promised a 2026 Range Rover Sport Autobiography and US$500,000 in cash. Chivayo said the gifts were meant to recognise years of professional service, loyalty, friendship and mentorship. (Tuko.co.ke - Kenya news.) The two cash gifts totalled US$750,000, while the luxury vehicles added hundreds of thousands of dollars more to the final gifts announced by Chivayo. Chivayo published the post in the morning. Later that same day, he and his wife Lucy Muteke died in a helicopter crash in Marondera, Zimbabwe. The helicopter was carrying six people and there were no survivors. (AP News) The timing of the post has attracted enormous attention because it became Chivayo’s final public social-media message.
