@mar_decarlo: Parents of toddlers know… sleep positions deserve their own Olympic category. 😂😴 These twins apparently have a new arrangement every morning: intertwined, upside down, sideways, and somehow completely comfortable. 😂❤️ As funny as these moments can be, they’re also a reminder that sleep safety looks different across developmental stages, families, cultures, and sleep arrangements. ❤️ Families may choose a crib, separate sleep surface, room-sharing, co-sleeping or bedsharing. Rather than assuming there is one sleep arrangement that works for every family, we believe parents deserve evidence-based information about the benefits, risks, and ways to reduce risk within their chosen sleep environment. For infants, organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend a separate, firm, flat sleep surface without loose bedding or soft objects. At the same time, we recognize that bedsharing and co-sleeping occur in families around the world, and families who choose or find themselves bedsharing should have access to practical harm-reduction education rather than judgment. As children grow, safety considerations change, too. The goal is an age-appropriate sleep environment that supports physical safety, emotional security, responsive caregiving, and healthy development.
