@truelife280: 1 October marked the start of Domestic Abuse Awareness Month — and the same day saw the first tranche of around 700 prisoners released early under the new scheme. Women’s Aid has raised concerns that this includes men convicted of domestic abuse and coercive control. The Domestic Abuse Commissioner has also warned that survivor safety remains at risk. We tell survivors to speak out. We tell them to report abuse. We tell them the system will protect them. So we need to ask: where is the protection? If you’re a survivor, you deserve to be heard, believed and protected. If you know someone experiencing domestic abuse, listen without judgement, support them and help them access specialist support when they’re ready. And if you’re watching this and have a voice — use it. Speak up for survivor safety. Awareness is not enough. Survivors deserve action. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
