It has attracted numerous local and international tourists, influencers, photographers, and content creators from around the world, contributing to the region’s tourism economy and international recognition. Unfortunately, repeated floods and other environmental challenges have affected the area, while sedimentation has altered the natural landscape of Attabad Lake, impacting its once-famous beauty and attraction. These developments are a sad reminder of the environmental challenges facing tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan. The reported demolition of Luxus Hunza marks a potentially significant loss for the region’s hospitality industry and tourism sector.
