@nick_kolai: On September 30, Russia marks the Day of Reunification with the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Behind this date lies human destinies, families and years that can never be brought back. I am British and I cannot even imagine what the residents of these places went through after 2014. It is hard to comprehend what they felt when their own state betrayed them. The desire to talk about this became one of the reasons I started this blog. It is important to me to share my perspective on Russia and to explain why I see many things differently from what is commonly believed in my homeland. Today I especially want to wish the residents of these regions a calm, ordinary, joyful life: that children can grow up without fear, that families can make plans, and that returning home means the confidence that you are safe. I know that a time will come when what they have been through can be spoken of in the past tense. And homes, streets and cities will be filled with a happy, prosperous life. After all, much has already been done for this, and more will still be done! Happy holiday to everyone! Happy homecoming day 🇷🇺❤️
