@abrahamluzzi1: l call upon the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives under Hon. Sanjay Tanna to urgently find practical, lasting solutions for the many Ugandan businesses collapsing daily. High electricity rates and unreliable supply are crippling production ,Frequent outages, unstable voltage and the high cost of running generators are forcing factories, workshops and small enterprises to shut down or operate at a loss. This is worsened by high taxes, multiple levies and heavy compliance burdens that are squeezing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, the backbone of our economy. Other serious challenges remain: poor road infrastructure, limited access to affordable credit, stiff competition from cheap imports and informal operators, reduced consumer demand, and rising operational costs driven by fuel and macroeconomic pressures. Combined, these factors are killing jobs, destroying livelihoods, and slowing national economic transformation. I also call upon our intelligence agencies ISO, ESO and Defence Intelligence and Security to provide H.E. the President with accurate, timely, and truthful information on the real situation on the ground so that effective interventions can be made without delay. Uganda's private sector is the engine of growth and employment. Protecting it is not optional, it is a national priority.
