@thetheatregayyyyy: I still cannot quite believe I get to say this: I watched Sarah Brightman sing “The Phantom of the Opera” LIVE. THE Sarah Brightman. The woman for whom Christine Daaé was created. The voice that sang this music on the original London cast recording and became forever intertwined with one of the most legendary musicals in theatre history. And there I was… actually watching her sing it. Y’all know how much musical theatre means to me. There are performances I get excited about, performances I obsess over, and then there are those very rare moments when the theatre gay inside of me basically leaves his earthly body. THIS. WAS. ONE. OF. THEM. The second those opening notes began, I knew I was experiencing something I would remember for the rest of my life. That voice singing THAT song—the song she helped make iconic—right there in front of me. Are you KIDDING me?! Sometimes you get to see a great concert. And sometimes you get to sit in a room and watch a piece of musical theatre history come alive right in front of you. This was the latter. And thank God I had my phone out, because there was NO WAY I was keeping this one to myself. #SarahBrightman #PhantomOfTheOpera #ChristineDaae #MusicalTheatre #Broadway
