@rootmd: Melatonin for Hair Loss: More Than Just a Sleep Supplement Melatonin is best known for regulating sleep, but it also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that may be relevant to hair follicle biology and the hair-growth cycle. While much of the direct clinical research in hair loss has studied topical melatonin, I personally prefer oral melatonin because of its systemic effects and ease of use. That said, we do not yet have strong clinical evidence showing that oral melatonin directly improves androgenetic alopecia, so I view it as a potential supportive addition rather than a primary hair-loss treatment. The science around melatonin and the hair follicle is interesting, and I think it deserves more research. #HairLoss #Melatonin #HairGrowth #HairScience #HealthyHair
