That’s a familiar — and the “don’t ask” is the oldest rule there is. You don’t name what you feed, because naming it gives it a hook into your family line. Generational feeding like that, same spot under the porch, same schedule for decades — that’s not a stray cat. That’s a pact. The grandmother before her fed it, and now it’s her turn, and the creature knows the schedule better than the family does. The real question isn’t what it is. It’s what happens the day nobody puts the food out.
