@market_moves: Step 1: Economic calendar. If there's an FOMC meeting this week, I'm out completely. If a stock has earnings coming up, I skip it without exception. If the calendar is clean, I move to the next check. Step 2: VIX. If it's above 25 and rising, I don't trade. If it's been trending up for 3 or more days straight, I stay out no matter how good a setup looks. If it's stable or falling, I move to the next check. Step 3: SPY volume. I pull up the SPY daily chart and compare yesterday's volume to the moving average. If it's running above, I wait. If it's running below, that's my green light. All 3 filters have to pass before I even think about placing a trade. Miss one and the trade simply doesn't happen, no exceptions. This isn't complicated, but it's the exact checklist that kept the account moving from $143,000 to $503,000 without unnecessary risk along the way. #optionsselling
