It’s probably unethical to accept payment for providing care to patients or to accept gifts but they do that.

I’m pretty sure obtaining the drugs is dicey as well. Pharm companies that manufacture the drugs monitor to be sure tgeur drugs aren’t being used in executions. I’ve read that the drugs aren’t often obtained out of the country..covertly. In this case, I believe the pentobarbital was “compounded”, which means the ingredients may have been obtained from different sources & then mixed prior to execution. Dosage & potency can’t be regulated this way, so they really can’t be sure what the inmate is getting. They might’ve missed Christie’s vein, but the potency might not have been there either. Yikes.

Yeah, when I said against their licensing, I meant ethics. But I didn’t want to deal with all the bullying and bot comments telling me the death penalty isn’t unethical. Thanks for taking the heat for me.

most things with professional licensure you can easily have it revoked for something that's completely legal that goes against the boards rules. i do wonder how/ what they do to get a doc there knowing they could lose their license they spent years age 100s of thousands of dollars to get

Could they have a retired physician or a physician that has lost their medical license preform the execution

Of all the things courts can order, why not just court order an anonymous doctor to be there and oversee to make sure it is administered correctly to keep from botched executions from happening. And if they refuse then arrest them for contempt of court. One could argue that it is unethical for doctors not to participate because of the chances of pain and suffering on the inmate. Doctors put people down everyday, this no different.
