I’m glad they’re building more rental purpose buildings. When I moved to Toronto from Dallas that was my biggest shock. How everyone is a landlord. I’ll still stand ten toes down and say housing should never be an investment, housing is a basic right. Sorry to anyone who is going to lose from this, I feel bad but also at the same time I don’t agree with buying a condo as an investment.

By the way , the Ponzi scheme by this founder of ever grand was tacitly approved by the government , it only starts causing problem when xi passed the law to change the loan to value ratio for commercial banks , and suddenly these people ran into liquidity problems. But it was a financial scheme enacted by the government to recycle the fixed assets from the private sector entrepreneurs as a result, China is facing historical deflation spiral where the system wide liquidity shrinking causes perpetual decline of prices.

This is such common sense. In construction my WHOLE life (2nd generation MASTERS Electrician) like I’m almost 50 with like 43 years experience kinda electrician (helped dad lots can hold a flashlight better than most) when people THINK that construction costs CAN go down - it’s ALWAYS on the labor side of the equation. We don’t give discounts to BUILDERS because of this (fuck your greed is taking food of our companies table) we do offer military/seniors discounts because we always have. People who say that costs can come down think you get paid too much!! I’m ready to start slapping people who argue otherwise like mafioso style back hands. They get to learn - I get to unload my frustration at their blind ignorance- a win win.
