So, one of my lads did this once upon a time, except it wasn't a 30 amp. He bypassed the fuse. We did find the short. And we found out exactly how many feet of wire were in that trailer.

it's a confirmed method of finding the problem in ELECTRONIC equipment, not so much for ELECTRICAL equipment. hope this helps

did that on a roof mounted ac unit kept popping 10 amp fuses boss said change to a 20 popped a couple of those then went to a 30 amp and found out which cooling fan was bad.

my boss told me to put a 2A fuse in a control transformer that used a 1A fuse then was like oopsie when it killed the fuckin transformer and i had to wait 3 months for a new one
