It’s called a Japanese manicure because the technique of using an oil and wax based scrub to buff and polish the nails come from the Ido period of Japan. Idk why yall are so hung up on the name lol.

Cutex used to sell this back in the 70s as a whole manicure kit. It came with the buffing instrument with little compact of powders and shine powders. It was really pretty. I remember my mom had one and I loved it, but I never knew how to use it properly.
