Therapist here. Im not surprised. His entitlement is the reason why he felt like he could get away with it. His parents response makes me wonder what accountability looked like long before this happened. When someone is consistently protected, defended, or rescued from consequences, they can learn: “No matter what I do, someone will stand behind me.”
