I’m 72 years old. I remember being about three years old holding my grandma‘s hand walking home from the Broadway market to our house on Woltz Avenue. Grandma was born in 1895, and came to the US in about 1903. As a child, she worked in the Broadway market alongside her aunt in the family fish stand. She never went to school, but she learned to read and write seven languages.

I remember mom feeding us three kids with the samples they offered at the Broadway market. Food was not abundant back then it was probably back in 1956. I know my mother is grateful.

it used to be packed everyday not just Easter! Then it turned into just Holidays. Saturdays get alittle busy !
