Zar is an aveatan (zairi )word which means yellow ( or gold ) . it has little roots with Pahlavi but not with today Dari ( Persian ). the word zar used by Afghans alot special Pashtons. Zar means gold zargar means the person who is making gold .

This is not correct . Gold embroidery is native to Indian fashion known as hiranya dating 3000 BC . Zardozi has become popularised under Muslim rule
