@pchemstud: Explaining my PhD research at three levels — and I GUARANTEE you’ll understand each explanation! I studied how plants turn water into oxygen using sunlight. 🌱☀️ The science gets complicated, but explanation doesn’t have to! #Science #Chemistry #Biology #PhD #ScienceCommunication
I care what you did, can you talk about your phd thesis more

Was your goal to simply understand the process better or were you hoping to find a good way to generate oxygen and or electricity?

Truly I think the world should care about what our academics have learned and provided to the world of academia. I've only got a measly bachelors, but I will always care to hear what you, and other scholars, have to say.

PhD student who do science for the love science will care. PhD student who do a PhD just because they can or they want to be called doctor will not care about what you did.

I have a 7 year old daughter who LOVES science and I mean like a junior in chemistry sawing a penny open to see real copper, do you know any sage at home experiments because I think she'll really love the battery one!

Elementary science teacher here! Your explanation for young kids was really good! "Scientists are kids who never lost their natural childhood curiosity about the world. Kids who lose that curiosity (usually around middle school) become normal adults. But kids who retain that curiosity eventually become scientists, either in their hearts or in their professions." That's the forward of Neil deGrasse Tyson's book, and I would read it in my classroom on the first day of school every year. I would always choke up at that part. I guess my point is, you clearly care about your work, kids would care about your work, and I'm certain countless others would, too.
