It’s really sad. I’m older and my children are adults now. When I started social media my youngest was old enough to say “Don’t put me on your story”. It hit me like a brick wall. I’m not joking. It made me “see” her autonomy. Like that’s embarrassing to say but it’s true. These children were started on social media when they couldn’t even talk. I think when people hear “consent” they think sex. They aren’t thinking about the child’s understanding of what is happening.

Legit, also parents who let their kids walk all over them and can’t hold disciplinary boundaries are teaching kids that coercion works. They just have to be a pest for long enough and they get what they want. You don’t think that will translate into their adult lives?

I’m not a parent yet but I’ve seen these videos and thought eek!! I understand parents wanting to share what they said and how they said it for others who could benefit from the advice BUT shouldn’t the video happen AFTER the conversation for a full breakdown? Idk but I hear you and agree
