You dont just get disability benefits by saying you cant work. You get evaluated, have your medical records checked and so on. You have to proof your disability thoroughly in order to receive anything. and most people would much rather be healthy and able to work than receive disability benefits.

i got diagnosed with fibromyalgia & arthritis recently, it caused me to drop out of school, but when i was still in school i was going way under 15 hours a week (in aus thats the # of hours/week of working at which they judge whether or not you can go on disability) and i really freaking hate it, i know its not quite HEDS or pots which are like, the main tiktok diseases, but i constantly feel like im just being like these people in these tiktoks and i AM capable of working and im just not bec im lazy like ofc if you give someone the opportunity to not work they’re gonna take it. but then again i really loved going to school and i really wanted to go to uni and study science, i really love science, i wish i could just snap out of it and get a job and move out.

Reminder that disabilities look different for everyone. If you’re able to work a full time job without support and are disabled, good for you. Some people aren’t, and they don’t deserve to be shamed for it

I only got diagnosed when I was 33 so I worked my entire life.. I don’t understand if fully either. There are many jobs that would be suitable for them.
