I'd never have been stupid enough, to lease a car at $1,500 month for 4 or more years, knowing that I'd be using up my mileage allowance before the 2 year mark had been reached. If he's going to take a hit for $30k, he'd be better of to continue paying for the car for the next 2 years (which would also be $30k) and to park it, because at least that way, he'd have the car available for short drives or emergency use, should be need it. To walk from now, is nuts.
