@sadarish: The CandyCrisp (or Candy Crisp) is a large, sweet apple variety known for its crisp texture, low acidity, and distinct pear-like flavor notes. Appearance: Large, blocky, and conical in shape—similar to a Red Delicious—with a golden-yellow skin, prominent white lenticels (spots), and a soft pink or red blush. Flavor & Texture: Very sweet (low acid, measuring around 17–18 Brix) with a firm, aqueous, crunchy flesh that often tastes and smells more like a pear or honeydew melon than a traditional apple. Origin: Discovered as a chance seedling in the Hudson Valley / Marlboro area of New York in a Red Delicious orchard by Mark Greiner and released around 2005
