My grandmother doesn’t collect anything , she’s spent all the money she inherited from her family in England and it was millions on continuous travelling staying in luxury hotels and living in luxury with her husband who loves a new luxury car every year .

as a gen x in my 50s, I've started clearing and throwing away a lot of stuff. even my photos. because when I die, I dont want my kid to deal with rubbish & pay ppl to clear it. nobody cares abt pld photos of me in 50 yrs.

To the people buying junk today thinking it’ll be worth something one day for your kids. Don’t buy it. Money.. money will be worth something some day.. pass that down to them instead!

I think part of the problem was that some of them were so dirt poor growing up that it meant something to them to be able to leave something to us. But the harsh fact is we don’t have the room for it and…. Don’t have the desire for it although we don’t want to be disrespectful. 😔
