@lesoosten: Changes by Tupac Shakur is one of the most powerful posthumous tracks in hip-hop history, built around a haunting sample of Bruce Hornsby and the Range's 1986 piano ballad The Way It Is. The song was actually recorded in 1992 during the Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. era, years before Tupac's tragic passing in 1996, but it sat unreleased in the vaults until Interscope Records paired it with a brand new music video for his 1998 Greatest Hits album. Tupac tackles institutional racism, police brutality, poverty, the war on drugs, and gang violence with lyrical foresight that feels just as urgent decades later. The original studio sessions captured a rare moment where Tupac was experimenting with blending social commentary and introspective storytelling over mainstream pop-rock samples, proving his range as an artist who could bridge the gap between heavy political messaging and chart-topping radio appeal. #Tupac #HipHopHistory #90sHipHop #Changes #MusicTrivia
