Are you expecting to compete with a human who uses Ai just by using your brain? Stop glamourising brain activity, because you can’t compete with Ai. In a few years, your intelligence compared to Ai’s will be like an ant’s compared to a human’s now. You’d better become proficient at talking to that chatbot, or you’ll be managed by one soon….

How are we meant to combat workplaces that expect us to use AI when writing pretty much anything though? The argument from management being 'why did this take so long, you should be able to do it in 2 minutes with AI'? Creativity is dying

duh, if during a task you're not using your own memory, attention etc the EEG is going to show different activity that is not surprising. The only interesting claim being made here is that the lower activity stays when they switch to "brain only" again but that sample size was so much smaller than the rest of the study, and people got to choose whether to stay for that session. also i couldnt find the peer reviewed version of this paper...

It makes me wonder if this will have an impact on dementia diagnoses in the future. Surely, keeping your brain active as you age has to guard against it, but what if we hand that over to AI and let it think for us?
