@guided_breathing: Breath of Fire in a forest near Utrecht. A few intense rounds of breathing surrounded by trees, away from screens and everything else demanding my attention. Breath of Fire is very different from the slow breathing exercises I usually share. The exhales are short, quick, and active, powered by contractions of your abdominal muscles. The inhales happen naturally as your abdomen relaxes. I usually do a few short rounds with normal breathing in between. While I'm doing it, I have to concentrate completely on the rhythm. That's probably one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to this technique. For a moment, there's not much room in my head for anything else. And then there's the feeling afterward. I often feel more awake and clear-headed, while at the same time surprisingly calm. It's one of my favorite exercises when I want a stronger reset than slow breathing. Research specifically on Breath of Fire is still limited. Rapid breathing can lower carbon dioxide levels and may cause tingling, dizziness, or lightheadedness, so harder and faster isn't necessarily better. Start gently, keep the rounds short, and breathe normally between rounds. I work with people privately through 1-on-1 breath coaching, single consultations, and a small monthly library with longer sessions. I keep it small so there’s real attention. Never practice while driving or in or near water. Stop if you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or unwell. If you're pregnant or have cardiovascular, blood pressure, respiratory, or neurological concerns, consult a healthcare professional before practicing. #breathingexercises #breathingtechniques #breathoffire #guidedbreathing #breathwork
