@uncanny_aly: Studying vampires properly means reading a hell of a lot more than Dracula. 🩸 I’m going back through texts on Kabbalah, Solomonic magic, ceremonial magic, demonology, revenant traditions, ancient ritual, folklore and contemporary vampire scholarship, this time with a much more specific research question in mind: where do our ideas about vampires, spirits, blood, death and supernatural beings actually come from? Some of these are primary sources. Some are historical accounts. Some are modern scholarship. And some are occult texts that absolutely should not be treated like beginner manuals because TikTok made grimoires look aesthetically pleasing. I’m approaching these as research materials, critically and historically, not as instructions. If you want more posts breaking down what these texts actually say, where they come from, and what they do or don’t have to do with vampires, I can absolutely make this a series. 👀 #VampireHistory #VampireLore #OccultHistory #Folklore #VampireResearch
