i’m married to a moroccan and what i can say is that i prefer the moroccan food i ate in Spain and portugal than the one i ate in Morocco itself. morocco was top 5 best cuisines for me, but if you eat as the average moroccan family eats on a daily basis, it’s basically a tagine of boiled vegetables and a very small piece of meat (the reason is probably due the fact that the current prices in morocco are insanely high for the average salary). and they indeed don’t season their food a lot so i understand why it could be bland for some people, and they are very intolerant to spicy food. their food is extremely healthy tho. the “problem” is that most moroccans when they eat out they eat in the “snack” 90% of the times which is basically fast food. there aren’t that many nice restaurants with authentic cuisine, in both touristic and non touristic cities. I love morocco and moroccan people, this is just my honest opinion 🫶🏻
