girlll. i did the same. i’m an hour away from my family and nothing is close. we live on land as well. i feel like i stay cooped up in the house bc there’s nothing to do and everything is so expensive!

def hobbies! especially utilizing your property for them! gardening, cooking, baking, candle making, crocheting, painting, hosting, flower arrangements. life is what we make it and i’m super repetativeness would have you feeling depressed even if you were close to a suburb. being able to go get a drink and walk around a target is great but consumerism isn’t a character trait so it def shouldn’t define where you live. if your family is going to come to you one day, where you are is where you’re meant to be!

Make your home somewhere you love to be. Get chickens or horses or cows. Take the dog for long walks, get plants, a garden, flowers. Still try and be social or leave home once a week at least. Stay off your phone to avoid the fomo/comparison blues. Take up reading or painting, build a home gym.

I grew up like this and to be so honest - you can try to build habits that keep you occupied and you will get more used to the drive (Audiobooks really help) but if you are the kind of person that needs to be around other people and enjoys living in a city, there is nothing you can do in a rural area to make up for the lack of daily socialization

I live on a family compound of 80 acres that is also an hour away from any major city! 20 mins to town.💜 Find some hobbies for sure!! Even just going to Walmart in town.😆 Read a book, start a new show, start a new home project (paint a room, redecorate a bathroom, etc), color, paint!!🫂💚 You got this

I’m a year into living an hour from the city, and 30 minutes from a Walmart or anywhere but country. It gets better!!! I felt the same away a few months in. Definitely at home workouts, cozy hobbies, a craft of the week to work on each day, etc. we also had a baby and he is the best company!!! (Coming from a sahm, so similar situation)

My husband & I also live 45 mins away from our friends & family and the nearest city. We have 4 acres of land & want to do the whole homestead thing. We do live 15 mins away from the grocery store & Walmart though lol. I love being at home & plan to start more hobbies. I do miss my friends, family and stores tho lol

My husband and I first two home were new builds and now we bought a home on land that is a fixture upper and I’m struggling too. Land is something I’ve always wanted but this change is hard.

We did the same thing moved an hour away to 45 acres and its tough. I found getting involved in my local community really helped! Like turns out we have a work out class only 15 minutes from here and a super small coffee shop
