@stevenpaltermd: One of the challenges of having a large social media following is when you see things being posted that mught ne dangerous. I can't have all the details remotely and these people aren't my patients, where I have enough information to even make a correct recommendation nor am I legally allowed to do so. I cannot say if their care is good or bad. I'm not there with all the information. I'm not their doctor. But for each diagnosis there is a diagnostic algorithm, plan, or thought process that good doctors typically follow. There are questions we ask to make a decision. There's information we want to make a decision. On recent lives I asked the audience, What should I do when I see stuff that looks bad?" Unanimously they said, "Reach out to the person." In this case I saw something that was potentially dangerous and I replied to their DMs. I can't give them medical advice if they're not my patient and I can't manage their care. I can say, "When I think about a potential diagnosis of X, here are questions in general that ask. I always say, "Reach out to your doctor and have a conversation and ask them, 'Do they know what is happening or do they not?'" Not every doctor, even the best ones, always has an answer but they can guide you to what they know, don't know, and are thinking. Any person with any diagnosis that could be dangerous always has the option to go to the ER or get a second opinion from a local doctor My job online is to share information in general. Viewers then take that information and share it with their doctor and have a conversation. Let me know in the comments what you think about this
