One of my favorite things about traveling is being asked about home. Sometimes I’m the only Saudi in the room, often the only Saudi woman, and I’ve come to love those conversations the curiosity, the questions, the chance to share a version of Saudi Arabia that someone may never have encountered before. To build a small bridge between worlds, and perhaps quietly undo a stereotype or two along the way. These photographs are only a handful of memories from my early expeditions around Saudi between 2014 and 2020, years that shaped not only how I see my country, but how I learned to see through a camera. And even these frames barely scratch the surface. Saudi is vast: mountains and coastlines, ancient stories and living cultures, volcanic landscapes and the powder-soft sands of the Empty Quarter. There is always another road, another landscape, another story. And while these photographs hold a Saudi I remember deeply, the country around them has been transforming at a pace that is sometimes difficult even for us to comprehend economically, socially, culturally. Watching a remarkably young generation not simply witness that change, but participate in shaping it, is something I carry with immense pride. I’ve crossed oceans, followed unfamiliar roads, and fallen in love with corners of the world far from where I began. But some places you discover. And some places are written into you. This is only a tiny glimpse of mine. Home, always. Saudi Arabia. #السعودية🇸🇦 #اليوم_الوطني_السعودي @Nara @Amin 🧱 أمين
