@spacexlunchs: Starship Flight 8 Booster Landing Ship 34 was planned to deploy 4 Starlink simulators, similar in size and weight to next-generation Starlink satellites as the first exercise of a satellite deploy mission. The Starlink Simulators were to be on the same suborbital trajectory as Starship, with splashdown targeted in the Indian Ocean. A relight of a single Raptor engine while in space was also planned. Eighth flight of Starship and Super Heavy. Ship lost 4 out of 6 Raptors at around T+8:00 and entered unrecoverable roll.
Elon and spacex don’t get enough credit for how they’ve elevated space flight.

The amount of math. The amount of research. The amount of testing. The amount of time. Everything poured into this project. This is almost on par with the invention of the plane. Only far more complex. But imagine how people felt when they started seeing things fly for the very first time.

I don’t think this is a good idea; it would be better if they further developed the concept of the Challenger vehicle—specifically regarding its takeoff and landing capabilities.

The fact this landed without issue with only igniting 12 of the 13 engines is mind blowing.
