I feel like the Shimmer should have made Jinx even more unstable. It should have made her even more terrifying and dangerous. We’ve all seen what Shimmer can do to people who take even a small amount of it. It can drive people to become violent and turn them into monsters. We’ve also seen how much pain it can cause, and Jinx had it running through her veins for hours. The doctor even told Silco, “Are you ready to lose her?” because he knew what the Shimmer could do to her. He knew Silco might lose the Jinx he knew forever. That’s what he meant. So how is it that, in season two, the Shimmer doesn’t seem to have had much of an effect on Jinx besides making her stronger in combat? She still has basically the same problems as before. They aren’t amplified nearly as much as I feel they should have been. In season two, Jinx is able to have moments of peace with Isha and even seems genuinely happy, almost as if the Shimmer never happened. But realistically, I feel like she shouldn’t have been able to have moments of peace like that, even if finding that peace was exactly what she wanted. She literally had Shimmer in her body on top of everything else she was already dealing with. Realistically, I feel like all of that combined should have made her life an absolute nightmare. Can you imagine having a substance like Shimmer injected directly into your veins for hours while you’re already mentally unwell and have never received proper treatment or psychological support? Putting all of that together, realistically, it should have been hell for her. That’s what I keep wondering about. How was Jinx still able to think clearly and have moments of peace? I don’t think the show ever really explained why the Shimmer affected her so differently from everyone else, and honestly, I don’t think the writers ever gave us a proper explanation for it either. I’d really like to know why. Maybe there’s an explanation I’m missing. I do have a few theories, but I still can’t find one that actually makes sense to me. Sometimes I honestly feel like the writers simply chose to downplay the Shimmer’s effects because they wanted Jinx to start becoming a better person, and they couldn’t really have her completely lose her mind if they wanted to take her character in that direction. But I could be completely wrong, which is why I’m genuinely curious to hear what other people think. If you have a theory or an explanation for why this happened, please tell me! I’d really like to hear your opinions. Just please be respectful of other people’s opinions, even if you disagree with them. If you start being disrespectful or picking fights, I’ll block your asses. I don’t want any arguments in the comments. #jinxarcane #arcaneedit #jinx #jinxarcaneedit #arcane
