@hustlersnthehood: Elecxus Ellis had been dreaming about a coffee shop since she was 10. She opened Kofee Broz in Springfield, Tennessee, when she was 20 and still in college. She paid for it with her college refund checks. No ads, no customers. It got so bad she was down to five cents. More than once she locked the door in the middle of the day and sat on the floor crying. To keep the lights on, she started tutoring kids right there in the shop. Then a mentor asked her to cater an event for 55 people. She put everything on her credit card and showed up. When the host thanked her in front of everybody, all she could think was, "You don't know how much you just showed up for me. I just had five cents the other day." She's 25 now. She hires students and adults with disabilities, people she says don't get accepted in a lot of places. 25 came to her first round of interviews and 75 more are on the waitlist. The tutoring is free now, and she's been giving laptops and iPads to kids who need them. She grew up watching her mom cry over what she couldn't give her. #HustlersNTheHood
