I worked 40 yrs and earned it. I also protested and went on strike for it. Also served in the Army and fought in wars.

Yes but no, you still have to contribute some of your paycheck for a pension similar to a 401k you just never have to manage it (e.i choose investments and manage cash flows, etc)
