@shesvalen: (You have to read this)👇 I recently got booked for an Afrocentric modeling job, and this one was a little different because I wasn’t just there to model, I was the muse..(hold on let me explain) The concept was centered around celebrating African beauty, culture, and femininity, so my role was to embody the vision behind the creative direction. Before the shoot, there was the usual preparation, getting my hair together, making sure my skin looked good on camera, putting the look together, and mentally getting into character. And honestly, being a muse is more than just looking good. You have to understand the mood, the story, the movement, the expression, and the way the designer or creative director wants their work to be perceived. So once we started shooting, I focused on making every pose intentional and allowing the clothes, styling, and overall concept to speak through me.
