@principal.after.h: The comments that get me aren’t from educators who started yesterday. They’re from educators who have been doing this for 15, 20, even 25+ years. Educators who have made it through curriculum changes, new administrations, testing mandates, difficult classes, changing expectations… all of it. And lately, I keep hearing some version of: “I don’t know how much longer I can do this.” That hits differently when it comes from people who once thought they’d teach until retirement. I’m feeling it too. I’m not walking away tomorrow. I have bills, responsibilities, and a life that requires an income. But I’ve also stopped believing my only choices are stay miserable or quit without a plan. So while I’m still in education, I’m learning how to use the skills I already have to build another source of income and create another option for myself. Maybe I stay. Maybe someday I leave. But I want that decision to be mine—not one I make because I finally hit my breaking point. 🍎 If you’re an educator somewhere in that messy middle too, follow along. I’m sharing what I’m learning and what I’m building as I go. #TeacherTok #TeachersOfTikTok #TeacherBurnout #teacherlife

Mrs. C :
Yes, the vibration of the students (noises and constant movements) plus the helplessness is soooo much.

This is my 29th year and students are very different. They are over stimulated all day long. They can’t even stay quiet, keep their hands or feet to themselves and they have the shortest attention span I’ve ever witnessed. And absolutely no consequences for bad behavior.

Large problem is only the teachers are being held accountable and responsible. It’s always “our fault” can’t hold students and families accountable

No more tech in my room! Going back to old school! Attention is better. Distractions minimized. Kids are nicer to each other. Overall, it’s been a positive experience and a breath of fresh air!

I said today it feels like we are in the Titanic watching it all sink, trying to keep it light and cheery while the few behaviors are taking down the rest with zero supports!
