My sister was renting a whole 2 bedroom/2 bathroom top floor corner penthouse (a little over 900sqft) in Chinatown all to herself for $1000/m plus utilities from 2018-2025. It came with two parking spots and a storage locker underground. You’d never find something that cheap in downtown Vancouver nowadays lol, but my sister got lucky because we knew the landlords personally. The cheap rent helped her save up and purchase her first condo at 24 near a skytrain station and mall, a very convenient location since she takes the skytrain to work. Becoming a home owner in your 20s in Vancouver is not easy to do 😭
