@truechristianministry: Replying to @Lola why ❤️ When Paul talks about praying in tongues, he is talking about someone who has the gift of tongues praying in that tongue when no one present understands them. That does not mean everyone can pray in tongues, nor does Paul ever equate praying in tongues with “praying in the Spirit.” In fact, Paul explicitly asks, “Do all speak with tongues?” (1 Corinthians 12:30), with the obvious answer being no. So it would make little sense for Paul to say that not every believer speaks in tongues and then command all believers to “pray in the Spirit” if praying in the Spirit simply meant praying in tongues. He would be commanding every believer to do something he had already established not every believer is gifted to do. Praying in the Spirit is prayer in unity with, dependence upon, and according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. It is not simply another term for praying in an unknown language. When Paul discusses someone praying in a tongue in 1 Corinthians 14, he is addressing someone exercising the gift of tongues—speaking in a language that the people around him do not understand. And Paul’s entire concern is that without interpretation, this does not edify those who hear it. That is a very different issue from the general command given to believers to pray in the Holy Spirit. #christian #christianity #christiantiktok #christianitytiktok #truechristianministry

For he who speaks in tongues does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however in the spirit he speaks mysteries. 1 Cor 14:2

People faking tongues has discredited it to the max. The Holy Spirit gives off a lot of different gifts, tongues is just one of them and not everyone has it.

Mike you don't appeal to the church fathers when the topic of OSAS is at hand. But, you do in the topic of speaking of tongues? Why? Genuine question.

I was raised Baptist but later became a member of a Pentecostal church. They were telling me you have to speak in tongues. I tried it once and the spirit said that's a lie. Many years later I actually spoke in tongues and it was an actual translatable language. I received the translation over a decade later. Even then I still needed the spirit to direct me. I could have become boastful according to the translation. The spirit said, not only you. I said, " Yahuah hayah ahayah atiyah". you can put that in google and receive a translation. I received my translation from a Hebrew teacher at the feast of tabernacles.

The opportunity to give peace ☮️.. Even if we have none.. that’s grace 🤔.. read this again and replace it with love not peace 🥰 .. The Father gives you Love (The Son Jesus Christ).. even when you don’t have none for Him.. that’s God grace (The Son Jesus Christ).. so, believe this Jesus Christ is the only way

Paul speaks of praying in the spirit in 1 Corinthians 14 "if I pray in tongues, my spirit prays"
if my spirit is praying, am I not praying in the spirit?

I understand your take but 1 Corinthians 14:2 allures to a language we would not understand… could u explain that part if you don’t agree with that type of tongues?

What do you do with Acts 19:6? I tend to agree with this, was just reading this today and it confused me. If you guess is just a different language that you use to converse with those who do not speak the same language as you…what is the point of a bunch of Greek men being together…who all speak the same language…suddenly speaking in tongues?

The gift of the Holy Spirit with evidence in speaking in tongues is what Jesus was speaking about in John 3:5, the gifts of the spirit are on another level including the tongues and interpretations ! I know this because I’ve seen this in practice at the United Pentecostal church
