@oscardonproperty: Number 4 changed everything 🤯 1) Waiting for the perfect time The perfect market, the perfect deposit, the perfect week to start. It doesn’t exist. The people I know who are doing well didn’t time it, they just started earlier and gave themselves more runway. Time in beats timing, and that applies to more than property. 2) What everyone else is doing Comparison is the thief of joy. Everyone’s running their own race and you’re only seeing their highlight reel, not the debt, the stress, or the three deals that fell over. Be genuinely happy for the people around you and get back to your own work. 3) Looking successful vs being successful The car, the watch, the fit-out. I’d rather have boring assets and a quiet balance sheet than something that photographs well. Nobody’s impressed for as long as you think they are. 4) Opinions from people on the sidelines There will always be a million reasons not to do something, and the loudest voices usually belong to people who’ve never done it. Take advice from people in the arena. Everyone else is just commentary. 5) The noise Rate predictions, doomsday headlines, whatever the internet decided to panic about this week. Almost none of it changes what you should do today. Zoom out and stick to the plan. I’m nowhere near having it all figured out, but life got a lot better once I stopped giving these things space.
