You should have also mention that the has precognition. He can see future possibilites/scenarios and manipulates multiple situations/persons to alter story, create events and more. He uses butterfly effect just for fun, connecting people from different classes through hundreds years.

He is a very powerful demon, I believe that he is inspired by the first iterations of the rumpelstiltskin stories, the contracts and the word play it started with him, and in those stories he is a demon.

hearts of stone is based on a folklore story about Mr Twardowski without the three additional wishes like Olgierd. Twardowski made a deal with the devil and stated that he cannot take his soul unless he venture to Rome. the devil then manages to trick Twardowski to step into an Inn which just so happened to be named Rome. while the devil is taking his soul to hell Twardowski started to pray and being annoyed at this the devil left his soul on the moon instead of taking him to hell.

And yet, i do not think Gaunter O'dimm is pure evil. A lot of people call him the devil and i get why they think that, but in the witcher universe almost nothing is that simple. Gaunter o'dimm is a reflection of human kind. He treats people like how they are deep inside. He chooses to make pacts with more evil people because evil is easier to lure and seduce. People with a good heart like Geralt or Shani for example, never got any problems with him. This doesn't mean that i know what he is, we simply cant know that yet, but i do think its way more complicated then most people think. :) Anyways i love Gaunter o'dimm he's such a complex character!
