@historyandstuff2: Christian persecution has been around for as long as there has been Christianity. In the Roman Empire, Christians could be distrusted for their unwillingness to adhere to Roman religious rituals. Some Christians have been arrested, detained, and even executed during times of persecution for their religion. Nevertheless, despite persecution, Christianity has kept spreading across the Roman Empire. Persecution happened in other regions of the globe and in different time periods. Christians were subject to discrimination, harassment, imprisonment, and even violence due to their religious beliefs. One prominent instance of persecution is the empire-wide Christian persecution that began under the rule of the Roman Emperor Diocletian in 303 AD. However, just a few years after, in 313 AD, the Emperor Constantine published the Edict of Milan that gave Christians the right to practice their religion freely. Christian persecution is still relevant today in some areas of the world. The persecutions are diverse, including discrimination and social stigma to imprisonment and violence. Various organizations and governments continue tracking cases of persecution and arguing how to protect religious freedom. Christianity has endured various forms of opposition in the past, yet the religion has lived to see another day. #viral #fyp #Jesus #clips
