When some Nigerian bloggers first started coming to Ghana and talking about Ghana, we kept hearing, “Ghana is peaceful, Ghana is safe. You can walk at night and nothing will happen to you. Ghana is this, Ghana is that.” But now, look at what we are hearing—people being kidnapped, Ghanaians becoming victims, and families living with fear. This is why we have to be careful about how we describe our country and how we handle security issues. Ghana has always been known for its relative peace, and we should not take that peace for granted. If kidnapping and other serious crimes are increasing, we need to confront the problem seriously instead of pretending everything is fine. We want Ghana to remain a safe country—not just for Ghanaians, but for everyone living here. 🇬🇭
