There used to be an airport flyer bus between airports and they use HOV lanes. No problems

There a bus you can take from terminal c to terminal a. Just hope you never have a gate that’s downstairs in terminal c. No windows. Every toilet in the women’s bathroom was clogged…it was awful.

yeah IAD is a super easy airport to navigate. If you can swing the cost...suggest an Uber from DCA to IAD. if you have extra time, there's an outdoor food stall area in Crystal City near DCA.
