@santabarbarazoo: The chicks have found their chirps! 🐣 Two Madagascar sacred ibis chicks hatched in the Tropical Wonders Aviary two weeks ago and are getting bigger every day. The adults trade off nest duty, with one resting with the chicks while the other explores the aviary. In the last few days, they have started to leave the chicks by themselves in the nest for short periods of time, and we should see fledging in the next few weeks. Fly by the Zoo soon to see the chicks as they start wandering the aviary! Alt-text: Two fluffy, white Madagascar sacred ibis chicks rest in the nest beside the mom. The nearer chick lets out a few chirps and a big yawn, right before mom tucks her head in front of it and looks into the camera.
