@classicrock.vault: TRINITY WEEK Pt. II, Ep. 5 Deep Purple • When a Blind Man Cries (Never Before B-Side / Machine Head Sessions, 1972) ON THIS SERIES: Child in Time Since I've Been Loving You Solitude Stairway to Heaven When a Blind Man Cries Changes Soldier of Fortune All Episodes: #RixxTrinityWeekPartII This brilliant ballad stands as a masterclass in emotional blues rock. Originally recorded during the legendary Machine Head sessions, the track swaps out fast tempos for a poignant, slow-burning tale of profound sorrow and empathy. Despite its brilliance, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore famously disliked the track, blocking it from the main LP. The band never performed it live in his presence, except for one 1972 show when Randy California briefly filled in. #ClassicRock #70sRock #RockHistory
