@matt_thornberg: Thinking about selling, buying, or making a move in San Diego? Link in bio to grab some time to chat. Alright, on to the story... Mission Bay is glowing blue again. 💙 And this is one of those San Diego things that never stops being cool. People around Mission Bay have been reporting bioluminescence over the last week, including sightings around Fiesta Island, Crown Point and farther out into the bay. And here's the crazy part... You might look at the water and see almost nothing. Then a paddle hits it. A wave breaks. Someone moves through the water. BOOM. Blue. The glow comes from microscopic organisms called dinoflagellates that can create light when the water around them is disturbed. Get enough of them together and every little movement can leave a glowing blue trail behind it. But don't wait too long if you want to try seeing it. These blooms are ridiculously unpredictable. They can move, fade, get brighter or disappear altogether... and one part of Mission Bay can apparently be putting on a show while another looks completely normal. So no, there is no reservation. No guaranteed showtime. Just San Diego casually turning Mission Bay into a natural light show because apparently our sunsets weren't enough. 😂 I love this frickin city.
