I think her mental age has a lot to do with the fact you treat her like her age and not like a toddler. A lot of parents with disabled children treat them like infants so they don’t progress mentally. People underestimate children with disabilities. They understand and can learn a lot more than you think they can.

I love that you treat her as her age, I love that she is so observant and interested in everything. She seems so sweet. It’s not common to see people with disabilities treated as their age, this is so refreshing. She’s so happy. You can tell you’re great parents just by looking at her.

It really warms my heart to see her love for her twin sister and believe me doctors are wrong a lot. They may be a physician, but they’re not the great physician.

get her some color depositing conditioner to revive her fashion color. I use clenditioner by keracolor. it works better if it stays on longer and you rinse it with cold water but any application at all helps if it's too much of a sensory thing.

What if she is really her own age just can’t speak or use motor function normally so doctors just think she’s younger cause thats the only logical answer I think yall are doing a great job with her she is loved and taken care of and very blessed 😇

I know twins can share a connection and bond that even thousands of miles can't sever. I'm sure she has learned a lot through her sister just by that connection alone. who knows how much she learned through being able to feel what her sister or "hear" what her twin is thinking. the brain is sooooo complex and is capable of so many things so anything is possible. she may have been able to "see, hear, think and feel" so much more than you thought through that bond😊

I can never get over just how drop dead gorgeous she is. And you are the best parents. I love how much you advocate for her and treat her like the teen she is and not the ‘baby’ they say she is 💖 especially with her clothes and hair, so many parents don’t think about that. Even if certain clothes are easier to get on and off someone, you can still get age appropriate clothes. She looks like a teen and I bet it does wonders for her confidence
